Rock N' Roll Revival 49.5 - Online
A note from the directors:
It's been over a year since COVID-19 first shut down our schools, and canceled our second weekend of Rock 'n' Roll Revival #49 last spring. The class of '21 has lost so many facets of their senior year, from homecoming and prom, to the mundane comforts of hanging out with friends at lunch. They have had to adjust to attending class over Zoom, and then adjust again to hybrid learning this spring. Online music classes just haven't felt the same, and many of our students are still mourning the loss of a year that would have been spent on stage, rocking out together. Rock 'n' Roll 49.5 Online is dedicated to our senior class. It is our way of saying: We are still together, still connected, and still a family. Thank you for being a part of the Sherwood Music Department, and we will always be here, if you need somebody to lean on. We know that this senior class will come out of this experience stronger and more resilient than ever before, and we cannot wait to see what they do next.
Everything you see and hear in the video above was recorded by individual students in quarantine, and edited together digitally. This online performance of Rock 'n' Roll Revival has been made available *free of charge* by the Sherwood Music Department, but we need your help. Our live show usually sells tickets for $20/seat, and this ticket revenue sustains us throughout each school year, providing funding for instrument repairs, sheet music, software subscriptions, concert attire, scholarships, and more. The pandemic has been hard on everyone, but we wanted to make sure our students and the Sherwood community could still celebrate the Rock 'n' Roll tradition. If you enjoyed this video production, and would like to support the future of music at Sherwood High School, please donate HERE. The suggested donation amount is whatever you might have spent on tickets during a normal year, but we truly appreciate any amount that you can give. Thanks, and we hope to see you back in the Ertzman Auditorium next spring, for Rock 'n' Roll Revival #50!
